Biomass power plant Horn-Bad Meinberg
The Horn biomass power plant was built about 20 years ago by Hornitex to supply the particleboard production with steam and electricity. GHP Glunz later took over the entire industrial site and the power plant. Since 2020, B+T Horn Energie GmbH has been operating the energy center with the biomass power plant.
Our aim is to operate and further develop the site in the long term. Our plans include the enlargement of the LUKO and the construction of two new drying plants. For this purpose, the highly qualified team of employees was taken over and is now even being expanded.
The power plant is identical in design to our biomass power plant in Papenburg, but with 102 MWtherm it has around 30 percent more output. It has a full-scale waste wood processing yard and storage areas.
